BSA | The Software Alliance on Wednesday became the latest group to offer up a privacy framework, joining the likes of the Internet Association and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The proposal calls for federal privacy legislation that would, among other provisions, require tech companies to be transparent about privacy practices; specify why they need certain information; offer their users informed privacy choices; and guarantee data quality.
